We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Vice President, Institutional Client Group - Global Banking and Markets.

Principal Responsibilities
  • To work as a senior member of the Institutional Client Group ("ICG") Coverage team within GB Singapore
  • For a select group of clients, take responsibility as Global Relationship Banker / Regional Relationship Manager/ Local Relationship Manager to develop and grow profitable long-term relationships with key assigned institutional clients, namely Asset Managers and Alternative Investment Managers
  • To execute the ICG growth strategy within GBM and grow revenues across allocated ICG portfolio, successfully defending/serving existing business in addition to originating new value added revenue streams in region/locally while ensuring that credit exposure and associated systemic risks are appropriately monitored, controlled and mitigated
  • To actively develop, manage and coordinate relationships with Global Relationship Bankers / Senior Coverage Bankers in the region and globally, and act as the focal point of contact for clients and product groups for sector
  • To act as the centre of excellence to develop, implement and promote business strategy and risk management initiatives for the Sector in the region/locally, and provide strategic input to regional ICG teams and strategic input to senior management

Requirements
  • Proven achievement in client facing roles within the Institutional Client base
  • Proven ability to gain new business for the Group across a full range of products
  • Track record of building & developing long term relationships including at key decision maker level for all clients
  • Ability to develop a strategic dialogue with the client on a multi-dimensional basis
  • Knowledge of industry and exposure to Asia Pacific market and regulatory environment
  • Excellent portfolio management skills
  • Preferably knowledge of HSBC Group and products, and a strong network of contacts across all business areas
  • Proven record of proactively developing and originating client solutions
  • Advanced understanding of risk management and risk mitigation
  • Strong team player
  • Seven to ten years of relevant banking experience

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
