The role offers the opportunity to become integral and valued member of an established and growing team in Paris, and you will also interact with team members in the New York and Singapore offices. You will have the exposure and the opportunity to contribute to all aspects of the investment process, with a particular focus on due diligence, analysis (valuation of private equity funds and portfolio companies), transaction processing/execution, redaction of investment committee materials and presentation to the investment committee, as well as monitoring of underlying investments.
Role Summary:
• Strong exposure to all aspects of a secondary fund-of-funds deal (from sourcing to closing)
• Gain knowledge on funds/companies across all sectors and geographies
• Exposure to hundreds of private equity managers (through both secondary and primary activities)
• Be part of a young, dynamic and international team
Duties and Responsibilities The role will provide an enriching experience and opportunity for growth within a leading and dynamic investment firm positioned on an attractive segment of the private equity industry. Primary responsibilities will include:
• Reviewing and analysing transaction opportunities
• Analysing the long-term viability of portfolio companies, their respective industries, the market for their products/services, their capital structure and funding needs, and exit strategies
• Assessing the investment strategies, skills and performances of private equity managers / General Partners
• Sharing your views on portfolio companies/funds/deals with the rest of the team
• Participating in due diligence meetings with General Partners and portfolio companies' management teams
• Preparing investment memorandums and models for presentation to the Investment Committee
• Contributing to portfolio monitoring and performance tracking, including periodic reporting to investors
Qualifications / Experience
• Prior experience in the finance industry (private equity, equity research, investment banking, corporate finance, transaction services, etc.)
• Outstanding academic record (Master's degree from a top Business / Engineering school)
• Excellent financial modelling and valuation skills • Excellent skills at standard IT tools (including strong excel skills) • English fluency • Knowledge of an additional language would be a plus • Strong oral and written communication skills • A passion for investing and learning • Ability to self-start, multi-task and accurately complete projects on time • Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills
