You will act in an analytical role providing analysis, research and support to the Structured Finance team in Australia.

Grade ( relevant for internal applicants only ): 9/11

The Location: based in Melbourne (preferred) or Sydney only

The Impact: You will have responsibility for undertaking analysis for the Structured Finance team. As an Associate you will be conducting credit and financial analysis, reviewing, researching and managing data, running credit models, analyzing cash flows, and preparing analytical documentation.

You will be able to demonstrate analytical excellence, and good presentation skills in front of internal and external audiences and maintain and enhance the quality and timeliness of our analysis. You will be an effective communicator working within the Structured Finance Analytical team as well as being an ambassador for S&P Global ratings with market participants. You will develop and maintain a deep understanding of the industry trends and issues.

The Team / The Business: Standard & Poor's is looking for a highly skilled individual to join our Global Structured Finance Ratings group as an Associate who will lead a portfolio of Structured Finance credits, You will report to the Analytical Manager, Structured Finance and be working closely with a number of highly experienced industry specialists, and work independently to make and present analytical recommendations

Your Skills: Bachelor's degree is required and possibly completed or pursuing post graduate studies/CFA. You must have good attention to detail and numerical skills, and an ability to synthesize and interpret large volumes of data. You have good writing skills to prepare professional analyses and reports. An understanding of securitisation and financial markets and prior exposure to securitisation or credit analytics is required, and exposure to legal documentation for debt issuance preferred. You are a proactive individual who has a willingness to learn attitude and an analytical mindset, and is able to quickly step up to take new responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct analysis, make recommendations, and present analysis and recommendations to credit committees
  • Analyze data, and be proficient in evaluating data and reaching conclusions
  • Working closely with analysts to provide research and analysis for the Structured Finance team
  • Build, review and run cash flow models
  • Analyze review documentation to support transaction review
  • E ffectively communicate to clients Standard & Poor's methodology and procedures
  • Undertake research in support of Standard & Poor published commentaries
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree holder of Business, Finance, Economics, or a related subject,
  • Relevant industry experience in securitization or credit analysis or related analytical fields
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • 3-6 years of analytical work experience in the financial services industry
  • Experience in managing and interpreting data for analytical purposes
  • Solid analytical capability, able to form and present conclusions and recommendations.
  • Team player and has good time management skills
  • Proactive and good problem-solving skills
  • Able to multi-task and meet projects with a tight time frame
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-changing, global and regulated environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
