Main purpose
Key responsibilities
Management accounting including budgeting, strategic plan, forecasting and variance reporting.
Monthly maintenance and sign-off of following schedules, including
Statutory reporting to HMRC
ALCO reporting
Knowledge
Experience
- Preparation of statutory financial statements under IFRS, audit packs and supporting the external/internal audit process.
- Timely preparation of monthly management reporting & variance analysis.
- Working collaboratively with Payables Accountant to ensure supplier invoices are recorded accurately against relevant budget and paid on time.
- Assisting VAT and corporate tax returns, understanding the requirements, and working with external tax advisors to ensure a thorough review process.
- Assistance with ad hoc analysis and other management reporting as required
- Maintaining procedure documents and reporting timetable.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting the Head of Finance in creating an environment of continuous improvement to ensure that all reporting is conducted to the highest possible standard, within set deadlines whilst meeting efficiency requirements.
- Knowledge of Common Reporting Standards (CRS) including Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories (CDOT) reporting is desirable.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Assisting Head of Finance on ad hoc matters.
Key responsibilities
Management accounting including budgeting, strategic plan, forecasting and variance reporting.
- Responsible for assembling data and the preparation of the banks budget and strategic plan
- To provide to management accurate and timely reporting of management accounts and variance reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as well as produce other ad hoc reports
- Respond to financial inquiries from the Executive Management by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
- Maintain data for relevant management information systems including Fintellix
- Preparation of the year-end Financial Accounts
Monthly maintenance and sign-off of following schedules, including
- Sundry and other accruals
- AFS Revaluation schedule/ Proceeds of Sales & Purchases
Statutory reporting to HMRC
- Corporation Tax
- Preparation of VAT returns.
- Preparation of CRS and FATCA returns
ALCO reporting
- Collate relevant data and reports for the ALCO pack
- Analyse data
- Prepare ALCO pack for management
Knowledge
- Minimum of 4 years working in a bank at a supervisory level.
- Strong knowledge of bank and regulatory frameworks.
- Significant knowledge of financial accounting and risk management.
Experience
- Proven experience leading financial management activities and compliance
- 3-5 years proven experience of financial statements preparation and financial accounting, including experience of applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Unblemished record with ACCA, CCAB, CIMA or equivalent.
