As a Barclays Compliance Assurance (Financial Crime) Assistant Vice President, this is an exciting opportunity where you will be supporting Compliance in achieving its mission, purpose and objectives. You will be executing assurance reviews to assess and report on Financial Crime Risk Management, behaviours and attitudes. The role holder will be responsible for enhancing the Compliance Culture within the organisation in a manner consistent with the Barclays' company purpose, values and mind-set.

What will you be doing?
  • Designing, supporting and delivering Financial Crime Assurance reviews that provide insight and value by identifying Financial Crime risks and issues, or examples of good practice
  • Assisting Review Leads to ensure timely delivery of assurance reviews
  • Ensuring adherence to the Compliance Assurance methodology in the execution of planning, testing and reporting
  • Managing the review to meet the planned timescale, resolving or escalating issues and blockers that materially impact the progress of reviews
  • Supporting cultural leadership skills, through recognising and valuing differences, e.g. through collaboration across diverse networks
  • Showing ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured and risk based manner
  • Taking a proactive approach to identifying and agreeing review coverage and develop the scope of reviews
  • Keeping up to date on business developments, regulatory change, internal policies and Compliance objectives so that Compliance Assurance work remains relevant
What we're looking for:
  • Excellent analytical skills and an ability to deliver timely high quality work, with excellent report writing skills and intermediate proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to all levels of the business, messages should be clear and impactful
  • Excellent investigative skills with the capability to identify key financial crime risks and areas of non-conformance with financial crime regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Knowledge or prior experience of working with an Automated Assurance team to increase the use of data driven testing and data analytics within reviews
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Technical compliance knowledge and the application of financial crime regulations and guidance in relation to relevant Barclays' Businesses
  • Prior experience of Financial Crime Assurance work or Compliance role, financial Crime professional qualifications (e.g. ACAMS) would be an advantage
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks across a variety of business areas and topics while delivering reviews according to plan in a timely and complete fashion
  • Experience in discussing contentious observations with management and recommending necessary actions
