Private Equity Analyst (Technology)
We are working with a leading global hedge fund that is looking to hire an experienced private equity analyst (3-5 years' experience) with a strong passion and knowledge of the tech space.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience investing in (or analyzing - if on the sell-side) privately held companies in the technology sector, either through investment banking and/or direct investing experience in the Hedge Fund or Private Equity space. The primary focus in this role would be on VC and/or investing in tech companies that are still at early stages of growth.
Working alongside the senior investment team, this person will be responsible for due diligence on both direct and co-investment venture capital & private equity opportunities, as well as performing screening and analysis on public market opportunities that express the team's long-term investment theses. Most investments will fall in the venture category.
About the firm: The firm is one of the world's most respected hedge funds, currently managing multiple $Billion AUM and with a track record spanning multipl. The firm has a strong track record in macro investing, as well as equities and other asset classes, however has recently been expanding its internal private equity capabilities, with a goal of allocating more capital towards private equity investments across multiple sectors. There are currently 7-8 people at this firm focused on private equity (split between NY and London) and this role would sit in London.

Key Responsibilities:
- Exploring investment themes and tracking companies within sub-sectors across the technology sector
- Advising portfolio companies
- Identifying new investment opportunities
- Evaluating public market positions (in select cases)
- Conducting due diligence
- Supporting deal evaluation & execution
Requirements:
- 3-5 years' experience within investment banking, Hedge Fund or Private Equity space
- Passionate for tech with a proven track record of technology sector experience
- High analytical capacity, intellectual curiosity and independent thinking
- Strong quantitative abilities with exceptional modelling skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset, a willingness to take initiative and be a self-starter
- Ability and confidence to speak directly with high-level executives at private and public companies
- Self-motivated and high attention to detail
- Proactive in nature, with the ability to meet strict deadlines and manage time efficiently
- Strong work ethic, confidence and maturity
- Strong academic background
