The Role: Senior Lead Software Developer
The Location: New York, Charlottesville, USA
The Team: We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and skilled software engineering lead to join an agile scrum team developing technology solutions for S&P Global Market Intelligence. The team is responsible for developing and ingesting various datasets into the product platforms utilizing latest technologies. The team is also responsible for building next generation data fabric for quicker data onboarding and integration into various platforms and channels.

Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in execution and delivery to team in support of the business applications.
- This includes leading and coordinating activities throughout development and ensuring the appropriate use of standard models and software packages, standard methods of integration, as well as the development of common application services.
- Ensure that best development processes and technologies are used in the design, construction, and implementation of applications
- Ensures timely delivery of the application development projects without compromising quality and performance of the system
- Coaching, mentoring, and managing performance of the development scrum team
- Architect, design, and implement software related projects.
- Perform analysis and articulate solutions.
- Manage and improve existing solutions.
- Solve a variety of complex problems and figure out possible solutions, weighing the costs and benefits.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 8+ years' experience in application development
- 2+ years of experience leading a development scrum team
- 2+ years of experience managing performance and compensation of development team
- Willingness to learn and apply new technologies
- Excellent communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies.
- Good work ethic, self-starter, and results-oriented
- Excellent problem-solving & troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and effectively within specific timeframes
- Strong hands-on development experience in C#/Java
- Experience working in cloud computing environments such as AWS is a must
- Should have working experience with Unix environment
- Experience in conducting application design and code reviews
- Able to demonstrate strong OOP skills
- Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test-driven development.
- Experience implementing Web Services
- Experience with Apache Nifi is a plus
- Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hive, Airflow, Databricks is a plus
- Experience with containerization using Docker, Kubernetes is a plus
- Experience with large scale messaging systems such as Kafka, SQS is a plus
- Experience with Python is a plus
- Experience with Terraform is a plus
