What you'll be doing

The team's primary focus is to architect, expand and maintain the technologies that underpin the trading function of the business. As a Trading Risk & Operations Manager, you'll become an integral team member, ensuring we remain agile and responsive to evolving market conditions.
  • Managing and mentoring a small team composed of technical Associates and Analysts.
  • Developing/coding tools and solutions highlighting the FO key market risks and used by the team to report critical information to both Trading desks and Senior Management.
  • Participation in various ad-hoc projects and analysis, markets/technology related.
  • Maintaining and improving internal policies and procedures followed by the team, ensuring completeness and that current practices remain within the company policy.
  • Investigate, when required, model issues (HC, Margining, etc.) and abnormal data points by requesting further information from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaising with Trading and Tech teams to support daily market activity.

You'll have
  • Ideally a minimum of 6-8 years of professional experience in a similar role, e.g. within a Market Risk function.
  • Previous experience in actively managing/mentoring a small to medium sized team (2-4 team members).
  • Previous exposure to the Energy sector (Oil, Gas and Power) and Derivatives market (OTC and Exchange Traded).
  • Education and/or quantitative/technical background in mathematics, engineering, finance, or economics.
  • Sound knowledge of the key market risk metrics and associated methodologies (VaRs, ES, Stress-Testing, etc.).
  • Experience in reviewing/analyzing Exchanges' margin models (e.g., SPAN) and associated Risk factors/parameters.
  • Experience in process automation, using at least two coding languages: Python, Excel-VBA, SQL and (Tableau).
  • Previous project and database management experience, closely interacting with Technology, IT, Risk and Quant teams.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to solve problems and articulate answers confidently.
  • Analytical skills and detail oriented with a logical approach to addressing issues.
  • Strong interest in technology.
