Job Overview
The Reference Data team is currently seeking a Senior Systems Analyst, Sustainable Investments to play a key role in building solutions to manage and deliver Sustainable Investment (SI) and ESG data to our business partners. This role will work within a team of data specialists responsible for ensuring data quality and completeness for a wide range of consumers, including portfolio managers and research analysts, investment compliance, and client and regulatory reporting. This highly visible role will specialize in SI/ESG data and will have the opportunity to interact with professionals across the firm and with our vendors and industry peers to promote awareness and improve reliability and usefulness of SI/ESG data.

The Reference Data team is responsible for leveraging multiple data vendors to generate a best of breed data representation of thousands of attributes across millions of Organizations and Instruments.

This position requires strong analytical skills, with a high attention to detail, and a desire to analyze and solve complex problems. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people across the organization. Excellent organization, communication, and delivery skills are required. This individual must be a team player with a desire and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities
As a member of the Reference Data team, with a dedicated focus on SI/ESG, this individual will have the following responsibilities:
  • Engage with business partners at different levels of the organization to gather and document requirements related to data needs for ESG and Sustainable Investing
  • Champion the needs of the business partners; act as their fiduciary
  • Conduct a thorough systems analysis for business requirements and provide functional specifications with detailed use cases
  • Work actively to ensure on time, scalable and high-quality business solutions
  • Create data mapping and validation rules
  • Implement data quality management tools and controls
  • Develop a deep understanding of internal systems and related datasets to help with solution design as well as handling support issues
  • Ensure quality of product by enforcing high standards in testing and building audit/validation controls
  • Provide hands-on analysis for support issues and assist with user training
  • Provide regular status reporting and issue tracking
  • Manage resolution of daily operational issues related to data quality, working with vendors and internal SMEs
  • Monitor industry and vendor landscape of SI data, regularly interacting with our vendors to encourage delivery best practices and monitor SLAs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with gathering functional requirements, developing specifications, test plans and test executions
  • Hands-on experience in SQL or other relational database technologies
  • 2-3 years of experience with SI/ESG data in a professional setting, such as an asset management firm, bank, data vendor, or fintech firm
  • Familiarity with ESG regulations, such as SFDR, NFRD, EU Taxonomy, and CSRD
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem skills
  • Demonstrate strong client focus and relationship management skills.
  • Willingness to work independently in an energetic, fast-paced, business-critical and team oriented-environment
