KPMG US Tax Services (Hong Kong) LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of KPMG LLP, has a growing US tax team of professionals based in Hong Kong. We provide an array of US tax planning and compliance services to help our multinational clients face the challenges of doing business in the US and to achieve tax efficiency in their US inbound and outbound operations.
We collaborate with the global network of KPMG professionals from our audit, tax and advisory disciplines - transfer pricing, mergers and acquisitions, tax controversy, business restructuring, internal audit, among others - to provide coordinated expert advice to our clients.
Services we offer include:
• Inbound investment into the US: tax-efficient structuring of a non-US organization's investment into the US, including analysis of issues such as US trade or business, ECI, withholding taxes, inbound financing, FIRPTA, branch profits and earnings stripping
• Outbound investment from the US to Asia: planning regarding anti-deferral (CFC, PFIC) and utilization of foreign tax credits
• Tax compliance services: preparation of US federal, state and local income tax returns
• Transaction services: tax due diligence, structuring and post-transaction integration
• Private equity and alternative investments: tax efficient structuring of acquisition, refinance/partial exit and exit structuring
• Tax provision services: assist with the preparation of income tax provisions where appropriate
Responsibilities:
• Assist in advising clients on a full spectrum of US corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, provision work, and mergers and acquisitions related activities
• Prepare US income tax returns for a variety of clients, including US domestic and foreign corporations, partnerships and other information returns.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, graduating in 2022 or before
• 0-2 years of public accounting and/or US corporate tax experience for Tax Associates
• US CPA not required but preferred (must at least eligible to take the US CPA exam)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, Chinese language skills not required but preferred
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Positive attitude, self-starter and good team player
• Ideally have the legal right to work in Hong Kong
