Position Overview
Schroders is seeking a Business Analyst to join the Asset Management Technology team in New York. The team is responsible for technology-aligned analysis, program oversight, development delivery and support for technical changes for Americas Asset Management technology and market data requirements, including our Latin America and Bermuda offices.
The successful candidate will undertake analysis and provide implementation support for technical requirements as well as conduct project management activities to support the regional interests of the Americas business.
The candidate will ensure appropriate identification of business needs and deliver effective solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner. The candidate will work with all other groups, including the business, Group Change and Global Technology teams to mitigate risk and ensure the effective delivery of business initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to high-level technical and data analysis of proposed initiatives to identify requirements and propose solutions
  • Contribute to business case preparation with project sponsors and Group Change function
  • Work closely with sponsors and Group Change to understand and translate business expectations into actionable technical solutions
  • Work with Capability Owners and Leads to break programs of work down into features, and features into stories
  • Contribute to maintaining relationships with the business, Group Change, Global Technology, and peers across the globe
  • Contribute to defining and continuously improving best practice for Business Analysis and Project Management
  • Contribute to the testing process for developed solutions
  • Propose and obtain stakeholder buy-in for changes to improve efficiencies and reduce costs, drive profitability and decrease risk across the Schroders business
  • Provide timely, accurate and concise status reporting highlighting progress, issues, and risks
  • Help manage stakeholder expectations and communications
  • Liaise effectively with peer Business Analysts to design an optimal solution
  • Conduct complex data analyses and identify sources and relationships


Basic Qualifications
  • Excellent understanding of financial services, ideally with strong investment/asset management exposure
  • Excellent understanding of analysis and project management disciplines, processes, and tools
  • Experience in monitoring and managing issues, risks and dependencies
  • Strong reporting skills with a proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering technology change using Agile methodologies, preferably SAFe
  • Experience of working on managing projects across both functional and geographic boundaries
  • Experience with the appropriate methods and tools (i.e., workshops, process flow, Visio, BPML) to document system designs, data flows and dependencies
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage own activities in the best interests of the organization
  • Inspiring and collaborative team player
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, change and multitasking
  • Receptive to others' ideas and responds constructively to challenge
  • Continuous improvement mindset challenges the status quo
Preferred Qualifications
  • Management Consultancy experience a plus
  • Project Management certification a plus
