Role Description:
  • Java software engineer working as part of a front-office technology team, delivery of software for the bank's Equities trading business, across multiple business areas.
  • Involved in all aspects of software development to deliver new business functionality, non-functional requirements, such as capacity, performance and availability, new regulations as well platform modernization and enhancements
  • Develop unit tests, automated testing and documentation part of changes being implemented
  • Provide level 3 function by assisting Level 2 team to answer queries from users
  • The role is based at our UK headquarters in the City of London

The Team:
  • The EMEA Portfolio Trading team is team of 30 members, having grown organically through many significant deliveries over the past few years.
  • The team works to deliver complex solutions, closely with business and technology partners locally and globally, in an environment that encourages continual improvement and personal development.

Required:
  • Java - strong skills, hands-on experience, including multi-threading.
  • Unix / Linux environment
  • SQL / relational database skills
  • Positive attitude, enjoying working in team
  • Good communication skills

Desirable:
  • Exposure to Investment Banking (IB) domain (Basket trading, single stock trading, ETFs, Futures, etc.)
  • Experience with high volume distributed systems and order management systems
  • Experience with messaging frameworks/protocols - e.g. FIX
  • Python - hands-on experience
  • Automated testing, CI/CD build and deployment processes
  • Experience working in Agile / scrum team
  • Exposure to working as part of global team
