Hang Seng Indexes is the index business of Hang Seng Bank marking its 50th Anniversary this year of the Hang Seng index, Hong Kong's premier financial market benchmark, and the 25th Anniversary of the Hang Seng China Enterprises index.

Index businesses globally have been experiencing unprecedented growth and increasing significance due to the expansion of the market for ETFs and other index-based investment vehicles. Hang Seng has been at the epicenter of this growth in Hong Kong and China and is an important component of Hong Kong's financial market success.

The Hang Seng index family continues to invest in the business and play a role in the development of Hong Kong as a financial centre. We are looking for a Chief Strategy Officer to drive the business forward.
Principal responsibilities
  • Direct, plan and establish the strategic visions of HSIL and develop business plans according to the strategy
  • Develop growth and digital strategies, assess and plan entry into new markets and improve operational efficiencies to support business growth
  • Explore potential partnership opportunities and govern partnership arrangements across HSIL
  • Provide value added financial reporting, planning/ forecasting and analysis to help HSIL develop strategies to improve financial performance, achieve key business priorities, and make informed decisions
  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of strategic initiatives across business functions. Align stakeholders across functions and support the strategy implementation and execution
Requirements
  • University degree with at least 15 years of experience in financial product, strategy, business management, consulting or related area, including 8 years in management level
  • Solid experience of strategic analysis and strategic development gained within the financial industry
  • Ability to think strategically and to partner with and influence relevant stakeholders (business, operations, technology, etc.) to execute solutions
  • Knowledge of Index market / Business advisory is preferable
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Putonghua)
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation skills with experience in working with executive level
  • Strong sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
  • University degree / MBA with good knowledge in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
