We are currently seeking a high a calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Life Insurance Product.

Principal Responsibilities

Impact on the business
  • Develop ideas and plan for any business initiatives being identified to support strategic priorities of the company
  • Assist to solve business problems and identify areas for improvement that would create a positive impact to customers, distributors and shareholders
  • Re-invigorate protection offering and to increase Health and Protection penetration in collaboration with Global Product and Global Health & EB teams, aligned to Global Insurance strategy
  • Work closely with Global Health & Wellness team and respective local stakeholders to leverage Health and Wellbeing platform to deepen customer engagement, relationship and value; ensuring that the end to end customer journey is optimal with suitable products and services
  • Work closely with Data & Analytics, Marketing & Customer Insights to identify effective upsell/cross-sell opportunities and appropriate propositions to deepen share of wallet
  • Work with Customer and Distribution teams to support multi-channel as required, including collaboration with WPB and CMB proposition teams
  • Responsible for maintaining Market Intelligence to understand Market trend and Competitor's Innovation in products, services, customers journey, etc

Customers / Key Working Relationships
  • This role will be responsible for interfacing with group and regional level WPB/CMB partners and local insurance stakeholders especially in the areas of customer proposition and solutions
  • By routine engagement of local, Group and external parties to capture developments on market trends, customer needs, new product benefits, new services, journeys, competitor offerings in the industry.

Leadership and Teamwork
  • Motivate and inspire self to achieve high professional standards in delivering the team's objectives
  • Success in this role will come, in part, by partnering with and successfully influencing a variety of business partners across HSBC, including:
    • Insurance: Role will require close interaction and coordination with the Global Product, Sales & Distribution, Global Health & EB, Global COO, Global Strategy as well as local markets;
    • WPB &CMB: to successfully engage with customer proposition leads, as well as key distribution leads
    • External: In coordination with relevant group stakeholders and key partner leads, ensure initiatives are developed to achieve business objectives. By driving the agreed initiatives forward through collaboration with internal and external parties

Operational Effectiveness and Control
  • Monitor effectiveness of implementation of agreed business initiatives ensuring business aims are being met
  • Be an active contributor to relevant wealth and protection associated sales models at the country level for each business line
  • Keep abreast and be knowledgeable of, and abide by Group operating models to avoid infringement of laws, regulations and Global Standards
  • Coordinate with country Proposition team in building sound business cases for CEO approval and WPB/CMB buy-in or other business line's buy-in
  • Stay updated on market intelligence, industry trends, change in regulatory framework and assessment of potential impact to business by conducting research and analysis around local market on HSBC business needs, the businesses of competitors, and emerging trends in the industry landscape

Knowledge and Experience
  • It is crucial that the individual within this role brings subject matter expertise relative to customer segmentation & insights, product development, product design & market intelligence, customer journey, distribution support and after sales services to optimize business impact


Requirements

  • 10 years+ of working experience across multiple functions (ideally, product development, digital platform, research & analytics, sales & distribution, etc; local & regional/group) within an insurance organization, strong capacity to innovate and find solutions
  • Experience working with, and leading, cross-functional teams
  • Results orientated with proven track record, self-directed, and high energy
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to lead change, influence and actively drive performance
  • Bottom line orientated, analytical and strategic thinker
  • Strong execution capabilities, able to build collaboration and good stakeholder management skills
  • Customer Centric and detailed oriented with strong presentation skills
  • Bachelor's degree or similar qualification
