Senior JAVA Developer

We are hiring a Senior Java Developer to join a team engaged to build Citi's next generation, cross-asset risk system platform.

The team is primarily working towards building the strategic xVA risk system utilising cutting edge technology to meet complex trading and regulatory requirements. We have the core Java skillset that is needed here plus some desirables but don't be put off by these, they are not needed straight away and we can help coach and develop you in these areas.

As a Senior Java Developer in Citi you will be involved in:

• Development of high-quality, modern and scalable application software contributing towards xVA business and regulatory goals
• Participation in a fast-paced Agile development process
• Adhere to development, integration and deployment best practices
• Participation in code and design reviews
• Working proactively on diverse and innovative solutions
• Working closely with product team on requirement analysis and build specification
• Good communication with support, other development teams, and infrastructure teams
• Thorough automated testing using unit and integration tests
• Contributing to architectural standards, development best practices, and promoting adherence to these standards
• Contributing to architectural and technical evolution of frameworks and APIs
• Influence the strategy of the team
• Mentoring and supporting others on the team

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experienced Java developer.
• Knowledge on one or more object oriented programming preferably Java but not limited
• Data Structure and Algorithms
• Knowledge on multi-threading, collections, File IO, serialization
• REST API or good understanding of it
• Message oriented middlewere technologies
• Database knowledge with experience with at least one relational database.
• Experience of Linux operating system
• Experience with modern development, build and integration tools
• Understanding of Distributed Systems

Desirable Skills:

• Python
• Mongo DB or experience with any other no-sql database
• Understanding of Distributed Systems and microservices
• Experience with Containerized developement using Docker, kubernetis.
• Experience with cloud based technologies and web services
• Knowledge of messaging systems and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge on Kafka
