The Team:

The Technology, Media, and Telecommunications business unit leverages the world-class proprietary data, analysis, and consulting expertise to help companies and investors in the TMT space to make decisions with conviction. We provide industry-focused data, research, analytics, and consulting services, that deliver actionable and critical insight and intelligence on the Technology, Media & Telecoms industry.

Responsibilities:

Our services (e.g., subscription revenues for media companies, tech M&A, data center knowledge base, company and sector analysis), are designed to help users understand the drivers of revenue and costs at the industry, company, and asset level, providing highly proprietary and unique insights across key thematic areas that are driving the TMT industry and powering innovation across the entire marketplace.

The Head of Data Analytics, Forecasting & Visualization will...
  • Develop and implement a vision for data, analytics, forecasting and visualization
  • Define a roadmap with priorities for implementation based on cost to achieve and business impact
  • Assess current workflows and identify opportunities for improvement and scale
  • Build a team by evaluating existing talent and making recommendations for scalable expansion
  • Lead a team building a data foundation and data products including data tagging and structure to improve data use
  • Collaborate within the TMT business line, and across S&P Global Market Intelligence to leverage best practices and existing infrastructure
  • Drive strategy for inclusion of new types of data to drive commercial objectives
  • Consider new technologies that drive efficiency and improve content coverage
Key Accountabilities:
  • Ownership of data products and forecasts
  • Identify weaknesses and single point of failure in current data structure and remove redundancy
  • Drive a scalable data foundation with consistent meta-tagging, data structure, data banking
  • Data Quality
  • Timely delivery of data products
  • Partnership with Research and Product stakeholders; partnership with Central data team to ensure no duplication of effort
  • Must hold team members accountable
  • Look for areas of efficiency to leverage best-cost-locations
  • Drive strategy for enhanced data visualizations across the TMT product portfolio
What We're Looking For:
  • You must have strong leadership skills and data management experience. TMT data experience a plus but not required
  • Understanding of data management techniques and tools
  • Solid understanding of data visualization tools
  • Experience in scaling technical teams and building scalable data processes
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills - role will be partnering with S&P Global Market Intelligence Data team as well as with Research and Product Management
  • Change management and record of innovation
