The Wealth Management Business Development & Field Training organization supports the Firm's Financial Advisors by managing the field sales support of non-banking products and the business development functions for our branch network. The Virtual Engagement Associate Program (VEA) was launched to support experienced Financial Advisors by executing aspects of their individual business development strategies via its Digital offering.
The VEA Program is starting to expand and grow its offering base. The Financial Planning Program was recently launched to provide dedicated support to Financial Advisors to help grow Net Acquired Assets (NAA) through streamlining Financial Advisor's planning efforts using internal Morgan Stanley Financial Planning platforms. Planning VEAs help increase Financial Advisors' ability to deliver personalized service to their clients. In collaboration with Financial Advisors, Planning VEAs assist in the creation of financial plans via data gathering, data entry, plan creation and assisting during client meetings.
This role is office-based in our 1 New York Plaza - downtown Manhattan office or our Purchase NY location.
The Wealth Management Business Development & Field Training organization supports the Firm's Financial
Responsibilities:
  • Become highly proficient in the Firm's financial planning tools and work with Financial Advisors to enhance client relationships and generate increased business
  • Drive adoption of the Goals Based Wealth Management strategy with Financial Advisors
  • Engage in client conversations to provide clients with an end-to-end, robust planning experience as part of delivering the Modern Wealth Standard of Care
  • Help build and establish a repeatable and scalable holistic planning process as a part of Financial Advisors practice across more clients
  • Proactively analyze client relationships to identify areas of opportunity and make recommendations to Financial Advisors on how to enrich the client experience
  • Regularly participate in feedback meetings with management to share best practices, planning wins and areas of improvement
  • Establish, maintain, and support strong working relationships with multiple Financial Advisors and their teams
  • Demonstrate accountability and a strong work ethic to promote confidence and trust in their work


Qualifications:

Requirements:
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree with 1-3 years professional experience in finance, financial planning, business development, management, sales, legal, accounting, education, military, or other business-related field
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam, Series 7 and 63, required within 3 months of joining the desk
  • Financial Planning designations preferred
  • Possess exemplary communication, presentation, and time-management skills
  • Stay organized, focused, and highly disciplined; Be able to keep track of simultaneous competing needs of their assigned Financial Advisors and execute on all necessary actions in a timely manner
  • Seek constructive feedback and coaching from both the VEA Desk Manager and Financial Advisors, actively using it to improve how they approach future tasks
  • Be authorized to work in the U.S. without durational restrictions
  • Successfully complete background check and pre-employment assessments
