JOB OVERVIEW
The iSci Tech Data Team is responsible for providing continuous development cycles with advanced solutions to onboard and curate investment science(iSci) datasets. Build/Enhance/Adopt consistent Data quality, data lineage and metadata management. Work on firmwide iSci/CDO related projects. Adoption of Snowflake initiative for iSci in data domain. Members of the team play critical roles in the firm's success by providing proprietary technology solutions, which enable complex investment decision-making. This Senior Software Engineer role will combine analytical and software engineering skills to drive the development of the firm's next generation of Investment data science tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in full-cycle software development including development, quality assurance, deployment, and production support

• Partner closely with investment and research teams to understand business needs and create effective technical solutions

• Be a technical lead in the development of high-volume platforms to drive decisions and have a tangible beneficial impact

• Design and implement efficient data pipelines (ETLs) to integrate data from a variety of sources

• Design and implement data model changes that align with warehouse standards

• Design and implement backfill or other warehouse data management processes

• Develop and execute testing strategies to ensure high quality warehouse data

QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior hands-on software development experience in Data Engineering or Data Warehousing role

• Prior coding experience using Python

• Experience with, and demonstrated understanding, of modern software development and testing methodologies

• Demonstrated experience developing data engineering solutions using Python, AWS technologies (S3 / RDS , Kafka, Snowflake, Elastic Search, Airflow) and related technologies

• Expert level understanding of ETL fundamentals and building efficient data pipelines

• Working knowledge of PL/SQL and relational database technologies

• Experience with Agile methodologies

• Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical production environment

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

• Understanding of market data, fixed income security data, analytics, and risk management concepts, is a plus

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, math, physics, statistics, or another related field is preferred but required
