Our Prudential Practice is looking for a highly motivated, proactive yet disciplined compliance associate to provide high quality, specialist advice to our clients on Annex IV, COREP and MIFIDPRU reporting and the UK implementation of IFPR and UK CRR including capital requirement calculations, financial modelling and stress testing.

The successful candidate will also participate in marketing and business development, assist with technical research and the production of technical materials, and participate more generally in the development and growth of Bovill.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Advise and support clients on a wide range of regulatory compliance matters which may include preparation and review of AIFMD Annex 4 returns, RegData reporting, ICARA K-factor assessment and stress testing, financial modelling for new firm authorisations, wind-down plan calculations and assisting with prudential reviews of firms' risk management frameworks
  • Actively partner with global sector teams to support and deliver on shared projects and responsibilities, where required
  • Developing training materials and assisting in delivering training sessions
  • Arrange and help prepare for client meetings
  • Participate in and where relevant, help to present at Bovill events and training sessions, such as client briefings on topical regulatory issues and roundtable events aimed at compliance professionals
  • Foster a professional relationship with clients and contacts, ensuring regular and open communication
  • Actively seek to increase Bovill's client base by performing market research and identifying new prospects to target
  • Attend relevant industry events to build your network and promote the Bovill brand
  • Assist the team with marketing and business development activities which may include preparing proposals and draft engagement letters, writing articles for publication (website & social media) and preparing marketing material
  • Responding to ad-hoc and routine regulatory queries

The successful candidate will be the subject matter expert for all reporting queries at Bovill. Therefore, they will need to be technically competent and able to resolve complex client issues. An ability to grow their network and take advantage of every opportunity to sell our services is also crucial.

When the opportunity arises, there may also be requirement to assist other teams and clients on a wider range of regulatory matters, so a keenness to the development of knowledge across the spectrum and a willingness to collaborate on work outside of the main areas of expertise is expected.

Successful candidates will have:
  • A degree level education, ideally 2:1 or better
  • Significant compliance-related experience gained at a financial institution, legal practice, consultancy and/or the regulator
  • Sound understanding of the FCA's policies and procedures, and a good understanding of the AIFMD regulation.
  • Strong grasp of financial services legislation and rulebooks including some or all of: AIFMD Annex 4, MIFIDPRU, CRR, CRD IV, FCA Handbook, PRA Handbook
  • Ideally, an in depth knowledge of and experience in UK Annex IV reporting.
  • Excellent understanding of PRA and FCA regulatory reporting rules and guidance
  • Knowledge of risk metrics.
  • European Annex IV reporting experience and filing to Luxembourg, Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Belgium).
  • Experience translating regulatory rules and guidance into meaningful, fit-for-purpose and pragmatic solutions for clients.
  • Experience managing client relationships
  • Ability to prioritise multiple projects and engagements while meeting tight deadlines
  • A passion for solving interesting problems
