Overall Purpose of Role
The Asia credit business is growing its footprint and deploying capital in Asia - and specifically interested in India as our largest area of investing. Trading and investing opportunities will range from secondary loan and bond trading to investing primary capital into structured lending investments. Both of these activities involve complex fundamental analysis. We are looking for a highly experienced senior analyst to be based in Hong Kong and cover India. The candidate should have an extensive rolodex in India.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership
  • The candidate would interact with various teams such as trading, sales, IBD and structuring
  • Provide views on pricing risk to trading team.
Decision-making and Problem Solving

The role requires analytical and business skills for an individual to understand various trading products and private lending product. Part of this decision making comes from experience and knowledge of the client base that traffics in this product base.

Risk and Control Objective

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Must be comfortable with dealing with a variety of internal stakeholders
  • 10+ years of prior experience in distressed and private lending
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge in India distressed and special situations market
  • Team player with interest in collaboration across business segments
  • Strong analytical, communication and adaptive skill set
