Key Responsibilities:

CGWI: Alternatives Product Specialist, South Asia

The opportunity sits in Singapore within the GWMI Sales team of Citi Private Bank. The role is both a client-facing and internal business development role, driving sales for Citi Private Bank's Hedge Funds and Private Equity & Real Estate (PERE) business. The role supports all client segments with GWM including Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW), High Net Worth (HNW), and Consumer.

The role will act as the internal wholesaler for Hedge Funds and PERE, working with bankers and investment counsellors to increase Alternatives penetration in client portfolios, identify opportunities and increase the net sales of alternatives exposure in client portfolios. This will encompass the full range of investment capabilities offered by CPB Alternatives team.

The role will report directly to the Senior Alternatives Product Specialist based in Singapore.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Act as the internal wholesaler- evaluate, advise on, and market hedge funds and PERE funds to private bankers, investment counsellors (ICs) and select clients across Asia Pacific but with a particular focus on those bankers, ICs, and clients in South Asia (Singapore office)
  • Act as a primary support, in collaboration with APAC Head of Alternatives in providing support to Consumer Bank channels in their efforts to establish an Alternatives platform and business across their APAC business
  • Attend client and prospect meetings to discuss and promote Alternatives solutions
  • Own and support client requests including developing bespoke pitches based on client needs
  • Partner with CPB's global PERE research team, HF Investment Team, senior members of the GWMI Alternatives sales team, the regional Investment Lab to deliver client solutions
  • Work with the GWMI Alternatives sales team to analyse internal data to identify business opportunities and drive business growth
  • Develop and implement marketing plan to further increase hedge fund and PERE and HF investment penetration throughout GWM
  • Drive AUM and revenue targets for GWMI Alternatives South Asia and support broader region
  • Own the GWM pipeline process for GWMI Alternatives South Asia and support broader region


Development Value:

The candidate will develop a deeper understanding of discretionary wealth management and the role it plays across the Wealth Management continuum. Further, the candidate will broaden their knowledge of key asset classes used within ultra-high net worth portfolios, including hedge funds, fixed income and equities. In addition, the candidate will develop their client management & interaction skills business development skills in support of Citi's consumer banking businesses.

Person Specification

Knowledge/Experience:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience (preferred 10+ years) in a business development/product marketing role and deep knowledge on the Alternatives industry/specific funds. The ideal candidate will also have proven sales and relationship management track record.

Skills:

The candidate will have proficiency in the standard range of Microsoft Office software and Bloomberg. Fluency in Mandarin and other Asian languages is not required but deemed very useful.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and potentially some further higher educational qualification such as a Master's degree. The possession of the Chartered Financial Analyst, CAIA designation will be seen as a positive.

Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
