On behalf of Deutsche Bank, AMS are now looking for a Masters Agreement Negotiator to work in their Legal, Compliance, Government & Regulatory Affairsteam based in London on a PAYE basis.

Overview:

Our Legal, Compliance and Government & Regulatory Affairs department manages the legal services, reviews trade reports, educates to avoid unintentional rule breaches or conflicts of interest, and advises on regulatory and political challenges. We protect the integrity and reputation of the bank by managing legal risk to make transactions viable and safe. We advise on ethical conduct and identify regulatory solutions. We promote and foster lawful and ethical business through a true partnership with the business. Deutsche Bank is a multi service investment firm. It supplies many different products and services to a large variety of customers and counter parties around the world. In such a complex business, you'll join a team that works with management on coordination between business lines to mishaps. It's our job to make sure the Bank has the most up to date information on regulatory and political challenges and continues to be viewed as a trusted voice and though leader.

The role will involve drafting documentation, negotiating with counter parties, and advising with respect to law and regulation. The lawyer or experienced negotiator will play an active role in helping the business manage legal, regulatory and reputational risk as well as facilitating new business for the bank and achieving risk weighted asset benefits.

Job Description:
  • Draft and negotiate a variety of master agreements and ancillary documentation, including but not limited to ISDAs, CSAs, GMRAs, GMSLAs and cleared derivatives documentation with external clients from a wide range of jurisdictions, namely UK, EMEA [and US];
  • Support the Sales & Trading business pipeline to ensure timely negotiation of matters and manage own caseload of matters;
  • Liaise with and provide legal guidance and advice on DB policy to key internal stakeholders such as Credit, Collateral Management, Derivatives Funding, Treasury, Group Tax and the relevant business line, to resolve any negotiation points;
  • Support the Sales & Trading businesses and other key stakeholders with ad hoc legal queries on new or existing master agreement arrangements and related issues;
  • Conduct due diligence through review of relevant constitutional documents relating to capacity/authority of counter party, including instructing external counsel if needed;
  • Conduct analysis of enforceability of netting to a particular arrangement through review of legal opinions and internal netting approvals;
  • Update and monitor documentation database.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience of drafting, negotiating and advising on master agreements such ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA and cleared derivatives documentation in either private practice or in-house.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent legal analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to develop strong working relationships
  • The ability to establish priorities, multi-task and coordinate work activities simultaneously.
  • The ability to work with a high volume of complex legal documentation under significant time pressure
  • Qualified as a solicitor, barrister, CILEX or foreign equivalent or with 2-5 years master agreement experience.
  • A good quality academic and vocational training.
