The Role:

As a Senior Database Engineer that has extensive experience with Oracle and its product suite. The ideal candidate will have expert level experience with Oracle Database Administration, Golden Gate and Data Guard. This is a great opportunity for a self-starter and a leader to design, develop and execute on changes and enhancements to our footprint enhance application. There is great opportunity for someone with public cloud experience as our workloads have a chance to move to that type of environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide secure, highly available, scalable database services that improve overall resiliency, functionality, and enable operational management optimization.
  • Strong experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication configuration, implementation and configuration of active/passive and active/active replication mode
  • Configuration, failover and failback using Oracle Data guard for business continuity and Disaster Recovery requirements
  • Oracle database performance specialist with passion to analyze end to end performance issues
  • Well versed with installation and management of layered products on Oracle engineered systems
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in high-pressure, high-volume environment
  • Being able to Lead a Database project from inception to completion
  • Assisting the Development team as an Application DBA
  • Provide incident management, deployment management and business continuity requirements of database servers
  • Database upgrades and patching.
  • Work on 24x7 production support environment
  • Negotiation, decision-making, problem solving, influencing skills.
  • Incident management support background.
  • Experience working in a financial services environment or ability to understand the critical nature and unique environment.
  • Strong planning, project organization, judgment, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge on products like Guardium, Informatica and Optim.
  • Knowledge of Exadata and Cloud

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required, advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • 10 years of Oracle database performance analysis and able to manage large database workloads with OLTP, Decision Support, and other mixed database workloads.
  • 5 years of active experience with Oracle GoldenGate implementation with two or more active/active database replication configuration handling large data volume with minimal replication latency
  • 5 years of strong experience with Oracle Data Guard ensuring continued availability of standby database environment. Knowledge of Oracle MAA.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure with an understanding of UNIX/LINUX Operating Systems, Storage and Network Administration.
  • Experience supporting and implementing advanced, strategic database management systems.
  • Direct experience in working within the database administration teams for large-scale enterprise that are highly scalable and reliable.
  • Technical acumen in implementation and support of the core database services that are highly reliable, flexible, scalable and cost effective.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills.
