Overview

Qualifications
  • Guides risk management efforts for the credit risk focus of Asset and Credit Recovery. Responsible for the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of documentation and reporting completed by more junior professionals and supervision of Credit Recovery Group collectors.
  • Contributes to the global identification of existing and emerging risks that are applicable to the assigned credit risk discipline and implements solutions.
  • Ensures the proper documentation is completed when strategy changes are made. Interacts frequently and independently with bankers, lenders and credit portfolio managers.
  • Guides less experienced professionals in completing loan modifications and legal documentation. Independently completes drafts of complex documentation for review by management.
  • Approves and oversees a moderate quantity of complex credit processing and assessment activities.
  • Reviews credit processing and assessment activities completed by less experienced professionals for accuracy and may advise on improvements.
  • Reviews ratings produced by less experienced professionals for accuracy and advises on improvements.
  • Prepares loan level assessments, risk ratings and related reports on deteriorating credits. Manages and provides input on the Credit Risk's policies and procedures. Interpret and analyze regulatory requirements that require new or revisions to policy.
  • Contributes to the completion of credit reviews or credit submissions and other related activities and operations for the various credit portfolios.
  • Expertly uses internal and external loan servicing systems.
  • Communicates past due borrower issues and collaborates other credit risk colleagues and inside and outside attorneys and servicers to mitigate potential loan losses.
  • Communicates and negotiates directly with seriously past due borrowers to resolve loan delinquencies and borrower payment problems.
  • Develops creative solutions to these issues within regulatory framework.
  • Resolves complex system issues and frequently provides input on credit system best practices. Demonstrates expert knowledge when reviewing real estate appraisals for commercial and residential properties.
  • Proactively checks appraisal policies and procedures for consistency with the Bank's risk appetite and for compliance with various complex regulatory requirements. May recommend policy and procedure improvements.
  • Frequently advises less experienced professionals on compliance improvements.
  • Independently completes analyses of existing and proposed legislation, regulatory announcements and industry practices that are applicable to the assigned credit risk discipline in order to contribute to the organization's implementation of procedures to meet existing and upcoming credit management requirements specific to each region.
  • Reviews analysis activities completed by more junior professionals. Contributes to the development of organization-wide projects and programs to improve risk management for the assigned risk discipline.
  • Implements discipline-specific risk education activities, as directed.
  • May assign analysis activities to more junior professionals in support of regional strategies.
  • Implements new, approved Collections Management, Credit Analysis & Reporting, Operational Credit Risk, or Credit Administration risk management solutions that comply with regulatory requirements.
  • May delegate improvement activities to more junior professionals.
  • No direct reports, provides guidance to more junior team members and assigns tasks.
  • Contributes to the achievement of Credit Analysis & Approval/Portfolio Management, Operational Credit Risk, Country Risk or Credit Administration team objectives. Modified based upon local regulations/requirements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Family Requirements: 5+ years of work experience in consumer and/or residential mortgage loan collections preferred. Prior experience/background in banking or loan servicing preferred. In addition, may require the following experience/skills based on primary duties: Discipline Requirements: Credit Analysis & Approval/Portfolio Management, Ability to assist with the management of diverse loan product collections, attendant risk, foreclosure, bankruptcy and/or OREO assets.
  • Experience with borrower rating systems and tracking methodologies, and basic knowledge of fiscal and financial condition indicators. Credit Administration:
  • Experience with loan underwriting and familiarity with credit administration and collection systems typically used by financial institutions.
