Who we are looking for
State Street is looking for a Senior Developer / Tech Lead in the Alternatives Investment Services team with 10+ years of experience developing enterprise scale applications using IBM Infosphere DataStage and relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server and Sybase . The candidate also needs to have a good experience on Azure cloud, Snowflake and/or Databricks. The candidate will work closely with business and IT staff across BUs and geographies.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for
As Senior Developer / Tech Lead you will
  • Be completely hands-on and will work with cross-functional teams.
  • Design, Develop, Test, and Validate ETL and Datawarehousing solutions for Real Asset Platform
  • Perform data modelling using data vault
  • Develop and implement data pipeline for SSCD(StateStreet Core Data) platform. Work independently on Azure/Snowflake/Oracle/COSMOS/Python component development
  • Work on critical Support and enhancement requests from the Stake holders and ensure the availability, accessibility and accuracy of the data delivered from existing platforms
  • Develop and debug complex sql queries, apply performance tuning techniques on poor running queries to facilitate the speedy access of the data from BI and OLTP platforms; Implement necessary optimization techniques
  • Investigate data issues, handle and respond to critical issues raised by the business with appropriate fix or technical resolution within a short span of time
  • Communicate effectively within the team and with business colleagues to carry out project related tasks smoothly in a coordinated approach.

  • Senior level of experience with 10+ Years in IBM Infosphere DataStage
  • Be responsible for building a scalable applications involving cloud-based infrastructure(Azure/Snowflake/Oracle/Python).
  • Experience on implementing data warehouse in Snowflake (Snowflake certification is a plus)
  • Strong hands on experience in Data Modelling
  • Experience in event driven architectures using Azure event grid and event hub is desired
  • Strong hands-on experience in RDBMS systems like Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server
  • Strong hands-on experience in UNIX/Linux and Shell scripting
  • Should have rich experience in providing technical guidance to Leads and perform technical Reviews
  • Experience or familiarity with Data warehousing techniques
  • Experience or familiarity with job scheduling tools using Autosys
  • Working experience in Prod support is value added
  • Should have good understanding of Agile methodology and Agile Ceremonies
  • Strong communication skills, combined with an entrepreneurial, creative, and innovative mindset, self-motivated with the ability to drive new initiatives
  • Contribute to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software and should be able to clearly articulate the implications of design/architectural decisions

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Requires a BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent field
  • 10 or more years hands-on experience in IBM Infosphere DataStage
  • 10 or more years of hands-on SQL development with Oracle, MS-SQL Server, Sybase
  • 5 or more years of hands-on experience with Unix,Shell Scripts and Autosys
  • 5 years working with an Agile development methodology
  • 2 years of cloud solutioning experience, preferably with Azure cloud
  • Experience with Snowflake (certification is a plus)
  • Able to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment
