Business: Client Business

Within the Client Business group, we pride ourselves on creating, communicating and delivering investment solutions for clients worldwide. To that end, we have teams of professionals with expertise in the many functions that combined make this effort successful and sustainable, including relationship management, marketing, sales, client service, and product development and management.

The Client Business group serves institutional and retail clients, including; pension plans, insurance companies, third-party mutual funds, endowments and foundations, charities, corporations, official institutions, banks, family offices, financial professionals and individual investors.

Professionals within the team work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services relevant to clients' investment needs. Unified under one global client platform, individual client businesses are accountable for client relationships and distribution of products and services and are supported by a centralized marketing function which ensures consistency globally.

Responsibilities:
  • As a Client Business, Account Management Support, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, including:
    • Field ad-hoc requests from clients. Leverage BLK network resourcefully while managing client expectations on delivery timeline design business strategy with delivering firm.
    • Anticipating client needs and prompt responses to client inquiries
    • Cultivating an awareness of client specific investment and operational priorities and sensitivities
  • Coordinating day-to-day delivery of BlackRock's asset management and associated services, including:
    • Accurate and timely client reporting
    • Design, ownership, and delivery of complex and/or ad hoc client requests
    • Managing portfolio compliance to client guidelines
  • Supporting new business and product development, including:
    • Take the initiative on new business development.
    • Support implementation, including account set up, guideline development, reporting needs and establishing other service needs
  • Create presentation materials and on other team business development tasks
  • Assist, and in some instances, lead prospecting research efforts. Work with GCR in RFP completion
  • Contribute to pre- and post-meeting logistics
  • Consistently update and manage Spectra information
  • Build internal network. Work with respective BlackRock business partners to ensure excellence in client onboarding and servicing
  • Be familiar with internal systems and processes
  • Become a student of the markets
  • Proactively think about client strategy and share ideas with other RMs


Knowledge/experience:
  • Recommend more than 5 years relevant financial services experience
  • Excellent Teamwork mind-set and thoughtful communication skills
  • Passion to complete one's tasks and challenges
  • High quality and ability to complete multi-task
  • Knowledge of financial markets and asset management instruments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Japanese
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
  • 2nd Grade of Securities Broker Representative License
  • Excellent PC skills: MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Passion to learn and use internal portfolio analytical tools (Aladdin)
  • Acts with integrity and with the desire to do the right thing for clients
  • Able to work independently and prioritize effectively while multi-tasking
  • Able to escalate effectively
  • Detail orientated and analytical
  • Demonstrate diligence and self-discipline
