As a Barclays Engineering Technician - Acquisitions and Divestitures (A&D), you will provide support to all aspects of the engineering and database management efforts of the Natural Resources Investment Banking platform in support of mergers and acquisitions of companies, acquisitions and divestirues of assets, and capital insurances in the debt and equity markets. You will collaborate with engineers on projects to utilize petroleum economic databases and analyze production trend / declines.

What will you be doing?

• Conducting petroleum economic analyses in Aries and PHDWin with a high degree of proficiency and accuracy
• Working with engineers and geologists to research key independent variables / parameters related to oil and gas basins and emerging plays
• Creating, managing, and query large databases from both public / open sources and filings as well as from proprietary sources
• Evaluating oil and gas properties using reserve estimation tools, in compliance with reserve definitions from the SEC and other international guidelines
• Conducting multi-variate analysis and integrate conclusions into development planning models collaborating with engineers on the team
• Communicating analyses with team members

What we're looking for:

• Deep understanding of petroleum economic software - Aries and PHDWin
• Experience in an oil and gas operating company or consultancy firm
• Experience with software programming in SQL and Python
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Good understanding ComboCurve
• Experience and exposure to data architecture planning, design, and maintenance
• Experience with big data management using Spotfire or Tableau
• Proficiency in Access, SQL, Excel & PowerPoint
