Job Title: Sr. Analyst, Operations Business Analyst

Main Purpose of Job:

Acts as the primary interface between technology and a specific business/functional area for defined projects. Advises internal or client business and technology groups on how to best address business issues, processes, and opportunities through technology. Identifies and gathers business and system requirements, develops test strategies, and plans, creates project and process specifications, coordinates with assigned project teams, and ensures that final requirements have been met upon project conclusion.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the development of functional or operational requirements, tests, and trains users on applications with guidance from more experienced colleagues
  • Interfaces with all areas of IT on behalf of the business to resolve IT matters and improve business processes.
  • Uses defined or documented processes to collect and define requirements from businesses or functional areas.
  • Coordination with cross functional team, stakeholders, and business leaders
  • Uses defined or documented processes to collect and define requirements from businesses or functional areas.
  • Provides data-driven recommendations and reports to business
  • Facilitate Training and Guidance to Technical Team
  • Writing Scope Document
  • Writing Business Requirement Document, User Stories/ Use Cases, Acceptance Criteria
  • Works with users and peers on planning, implementing, and supporting new or existing applications. Uses knowledge of business needs to provide design support to software and application development teams.
  • Participates in process improvement reviews and summarizes business issues and client feedback for team's review.
  • Supports testing of new or enhanced applications and/or systems. Tasks include case development, requirement traceability analysis, test preparation, script writing, and functional test execution.
  • Uses basic knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements and BNY Mellon corporate policies involving risk and control to support the development of improved business processes through technology.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 0 - 3 years of total work experience preferred. Technical experience preferred.
  • Knowledge on Payments domain viz Global Clearing channels, SWIFT Message types i.e., MTXXX and MX or ISO20022, Electronic payment workflows etc. Is desired
  • Knowledge of the software development process (can be through scrum/ lean agile or standard SDLC).
  • Knowledge and experience of project execution
  • BCS certificate / Lean Six Sigma or similar qualification desired
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of tools such as: Jira, Confluence etc
