Harper Bernays Limited are looking to hire a junior equities investment analyst.
We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career in investing and who will be a positive contributor to a team environment.
Enthusiasm and attitude will be key features that will differentiate the successful candidate. The following attributes and experience will also be important:
- A genuine curiosity and strong problem-solving skills The ability to absorb lots of data/information, then filter out the signal from the noise. An ability to communicate succinctly A love of learning and processing/filtering information A love of numbers and an understanding of basic accounting methods & statements. A proficiency with Excel, the ability to use other database tools and programming skills will be a bonus. The courage to ask questions, debate findings and iterate on outcomes. An openness to change and ability to admit mistakes. The ability to work in a team and be coachable Life skills & experience are viewed positively – travel, hobbies, design, community service, entrepreneurship.
The experience we will provide:
- You will be reporting to the Head of Equities but have access to learn from the whole senior investment team. We will be inclusive; you will see across the investment process as well as the broader investment management business. Responsibility - Initially you will be responsible for execution trading across the portfolio (executing trades on market), as well as supporting investment analysis and writing investment reports. Our goal is for you to be a contributing member of the investment team – we will build your skills across idea generation, analytics and evaluation, risk management and the behavioural awareness of investing. Broad exposure across Australian and international equities, alternatives and fixed income.
