Job Description
A fantastic opportunity to work for a renowned globally trusted brand in the Insurance sector as an Exceptional Treasury and Investment Accounting Analyst

Key Responsibilities For The Role Are As Follows
  • Demonstrating technical expertise in accounting for treasury products and investments and related disclosures, actively engaging and supporting stakeholders to identify and address accounting and reporting issues, offering practical alternatives to address problems and offer innovative solutions.
  • Supporting the end to end investment accounting process including implementation of new investment strategies and portfolio activities as well as playing an active role in month end accounting process and reporting, quarter end and half-year and year-end reporting periods.
  • Ensuring stakeholders have access to timely, accurate and complete investment accounting data to fulfill reporting obligations and aid decision making (i.e. Group Treasury).
  • Identify treasury and investment accounting issues and reconciliation breaks and make informed decisions to address in a timely manner with minimal impact on reporting.
  • Apply technical accounting and financial instruments knowledge and experience to support and advise on the implementation of new investment strategies and new treasury and investment instruments considering the end to end investment accounting process and IFRS GAAP and local statutory GAAP reporting requirements. Including working with Group Treasury and Group Investments support teams, to ensure the accounting set up is complete in product systems and with relevant stakeholders to accurate and complete set up in group general ledger and reporting.
  • Provide analysis and insights into treasury and investment income and balance sheet movements including identifying key drivers, both in comparison to prior period and to budget.
Experience And Skills Required
  • Professional accounting qualification i.e. CA, CPA etc.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and AASB accounting standards covering financial instruments (hedge accounting knowledge would be beneficial).
  • Minimum 5-10 years relevant experience in an investment accounting or fund accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of Treasury and Investments Financial Instruments and markets.
  • Continuous professional development in line with the requirements for own professional accounting body.
  • Proven experience of working with stakeholders in Treasury and Investments and Finance functions.
