A globally renowned Life Insurer is looking for a Senior Manager level candidate to lead and support IFRS 17 implementation project

Responsibilities

* Leading strategic initiatives and projects from the strategic and commercial finance perspective (incl. not limited to, through IFRS 17 lens)

* High quality internal and external communication of the business performance & financial results, including to investors, analysts, HSBC Global Insurance Executives, HSBC regional and group Investor relations teams, Finance teams

* Assess and challenge business unit planning, strategies, new products and transactions across the full suite of commercial and capital lenses * High quality insight and analysis over financial performance, forecast, plan and projections, including benchmarked in the context of industry peers' performance

* Maintenance of a formal framework to assess investment cases, and performing critical reviews of such cases

* Insurance Management Information across Manufacturing and Distribution activity, including performance analysis, forecasting and annual planning, with accurate and timely delivery to support key business decision-making forums including Operating Committee & Executive Committee

* Delivery of high quality insight and analysis of the business performance under IFRS 17

* Integration of the new planning, forecasting and analysis capabilities and solutions being built by the IFRS 17 programme into BAU

* Participation in committees, making recommendations & driving initiatives as required

Requirements

* Understanding of the life insurance industry, embedded value reporting and risk-based capital frameworks (IFRS17 working knowledge will be an advantage)

* Strong financial background - including in-depth understanding of financial markets (theory & instruments)

* Strong working experience and exposure to Life Insurance Financial metrics

* Accounting or Actuarial designation would be desirable

* Strong influencing, communication and leadership skills and a proven ability to lead group-wide processes and working with international and virtual teams

* Commercial awareness and a high degree of credibility with senior management

* Strong communication and influencing skills and the ability to work effectively across matrix reporting lines

* Track record of strategic partnering with business stakeholders
