Treliant Capital Markets is looking for a Business Analyst with expert knowledge of the financial industry and regulatory capital applications. The successful applicant will be meticulous, objective-focused, and technical. You will perform business analysis and quality assurance to clarify business requirements and confirm business logic and field definitions

About the role

The scope and nature of the projects on which you'll work will vary however, examples of duties/responsibilities include:

  • Developing process flows
  • Validating data sources
  • Performing SQL queries to select datasets for analysis and comparison purposes
  • Contribute to solution design
  • Define data integrity and validation checks, and collaborate with technology to confirm that the checks are accurately implemented
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to confirm use cases, business logic, and field definitions
  • Perform system testing to ensure development is in line with functional specification.
  • Plan and manage User Acceptance Testing and migration testing up to successful delivery of end product
  • Undertake data assessment, data gap analysis and remediation.
  • Develop functional specification requirements for IT development and to ensure user requirements are met.


Who are we looking for?

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates should preferably have the following:
  • Strong educational background - Degree (Masters would be an advantage)
  • 10+ years' experience of working on professional services projects (Ideally for Investment Bank or a Big 4 consulting firm, relevant experience within other professional industries would be acceptable)
  • Good experience with SQL and enterprise data warehouses
  • Advanced ability to manipulate data in Excel to perform analysis
  • Experience with Snowflake or Python a plus
  • Good level of product knowledge - Bonds, Repo, OTC Derivative, FX, Commercial loans, Money markets, Deposits, Facilities or Trade finance
  • Ideally experience with Regulatory Reporting, Financial Reporting / GL, or Risk Management / Reporting (especially credit risk, but also liquidity risk and market risk)
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate uncertainty and independently dig into data to understand data architecture
  • Demonstrated willingness to take ownership of streams and issues and drive them to resolution
  • Ability to form effective working relationships with developers, stakeholders, and other business analysts
  • Experience designing and delivering testing and migration plans involving large data sets
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, ideally using JIRA
