Job Description

The Business Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring the execution of activities from the wide range of Business Management tasks, either directly responsible for task execution or indirectly responsible via the efforts of other team members. The Business Manager Specialist's responsibilities may include all or some of the following, financial planning and business forecasting, reporting output quality and performance metrics, ensuring satisfactory infrastructure and control function service level delivery and supplier sourcing and pricing negotiations. In addition, the Business Management Specialist may be responsible for analyzing the impact of changes and evaluating the corresponding changes to cost and the impact to the forecast. The Business Management Specialist is responsible for defining, implementing and continuously improving policies, processes and procedures that deliver consistent and reliable products and services. The Business Management Specialist may oversee the work of Lead Business Management Analysts and/ or Business Management Analysts.

Details of the Division and Team:

The Business Management & Control (BM&C) team is responsible for leading the BM&C function for a discreet sub-unit, be that a product, a desk, infrastructure or control area of activity or a geographical region. Business Manager in the BM&C team is responsible for both delivering and improving the functions performed by that BM&C community. The scope of BM&C team's activities will typically be diverse and may include strategic business planning, financial control and reporting tasks, control function liaison, headcount management and compensation matters, IT and Ops service management and enhancement, aspects of Facilities Management to both accommodate current business need as well as to ensure future ability to conduct planned business activity, co-ordination of business case approval and project sponsorship. This team is able to consolidate the results of this broad range of activities, whilst managing the ongoing line relationships in order to collate and validate required output and synthesize the relevant business insights for senior management. BM&C team also holds relationship with a broad range of internal points of contact from across the sub-unit for which they are responsible, the parent business division, other Deutsche Bank business divisions and control functions

Your key responsibilities:
  • Advising Front Office in relation to business management and control related matters
  • Regular and ad-hoc analysis and reporting, including management presentations
  • Expense / cost management, including travels, gift & entertainment, market data services, deal related expense, etc..
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring level 1 controls
  • Project management to drive forward strategies and productivity initiatives
  • Functioning as liaison with internal control and infrastructure functions

Your skills and experience:
  • At least 7 years of relevant industry experience, ideally from a top tier investment bank
  • Understanding of Corporate Finance business, including advisory and capital markets transactions
  • Highly motivated and self-driven with ability to multi task
  • Have high level of integrity
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to challenge existing processes and to drive change and control processes
  • Strong financial knowledge with strong Excel / PowerPoint skills
