The Senior Accountant has primary responsibility for client billing, AR/AP processing, financial reporting and analysis, and managing the annual financial statement audit and state tax matters. This position will also be responsible for managing fund accounting, audit, and tax reporting for a private investment fund via a third party vendor. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and to the Chief Executive Officer for certain duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

General ledger accounting

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Track income and expense codes for accuracy
  • Process employee expense reimbursement, including reimbursement codes and documentation
  • Calculate sales and use tax for expenses and produce reports as required
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Track prepaid accounts
  • Reconcile general ledger
  • Produce monthly financial statements
  • Produce materials as required for annual financial statement audit
  • Manage quarterly and annual state income tax payments, documentation, and reporting/filing

Financial reporting & analysis

  • Prepare and deliver periodic financial reports to the CEO and company ownership
  • Develop and implement reporting and dashboards around key business metrics

Private Fund Accounting

  • Manage and monitor third-party vendor for private fund accounting and administration
  • Assist with fund financial statement preparation
  • Assist with fund tax reporting

Client Billing

  • Generate monthly and quarterly client bills using Advent Revenue Center
  • Manage bill delivery to clients
  • Post payments to portfolio accounting system (Advent Portfolio Exchange) and GL accounting system (Quickbooks)

Human Resources

  • Manage employee health and dental insurance enrollment
  • Manage 125 FSA plan enrollment and transactions
  • Manage employee transportation and parking

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or similar educational attainment preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of GL accounting, AP/AR, billing, and financial reporting experience required
  • Strong and demonstrable mathematical and analytical skills required
  • Experience with Quickbooks strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel and business intelligence skills strongly preferred
  • Experience with investment fund accounting strongly preferred
