Description of the Business Line or Department

The Kleinwort Hambros (KH) Group Compliance Team sits within the Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime ("CAFC") function and is responsible for monitoring and advising the business in respect of all conduct -related regulatory matters, including:
  • Compliance conduct of business;
  • Non-financial regulatory reporting;
  • Compliance projects; and
  • Regulatory change requirements.

The Group Compliance Team is also responsible for managing and maintaining Compliance Risk Assessments (CRAs) and developing the annual risk-based Compliance Monitoring Plan (CMP) based on CRA results for KH Group entities in the UK, Channel Islands, Gibraltar and Singapore.

Summary of the key purposes of the role
  • Lead in the development and maintenance of the Compliance Risk Assessment and annual, risk-based Compliance Monitoring Plan.
  • Execute level one Compliance controls in line with timescales set out in the Annual Compliance Plan.
  • Proactively identify key emerging compliance risks across KH and engage effectively with business unit contacts and management.
  • Manage and track identified issues to resolution.
  • Assist senior management to ensure that the firm establishes and maintains appropriate, policies, procedures, systems and controls to meet its regulatory obligations and requirements.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation, rules, regulations and codes of conduct.
  • Safeguard the reputation of the Kleinwort Hambros Group.

Summary of responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the annual Compliance Risk Assessment (CRA) process across KH jurisdictions (UK, CI, GIB, Singapore).
  • Assist the Group Head of Compliance and Group Head of Financial Crime to define the annual risk-based Compliance Monitoring Plan (CMP) through the annual Compliance Risk Assessment.
  • Act as point of contact and Subject Matter Expert for Compliance monitoring activities executed by the Risk and Compliance Monitoring Team.
  • Proactively identify key emerging compliance risks across KH and engage effectively with business unit contacts and management
  • Execute level one Compliance controls, including periodic monitoring and oversight activities.
  • Manage and maintain the KH Key Compliance Risk (KCR) library and Mandatory Monitoring List.
  • Manage and coordinate periodic CRA "Check Points" across KH jurisdictions.
  • Assist the Group Head of Compliance in providing regular management reporting to legal entity Boards of Directors and relevant executive committees (KH Executive Committee, Group Audit Committee and Operational Committee).
  • Assist senior management to ensure that the firm establishes and maintains appropriate, policies, procedures, systems and controls to meet its regulatory obligations and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records in accordance with KH policies and procedures. This includes strong version control and detailed recordkeeping.
  • Preform all duties in accordance with the principles outlined in the SGPBH Code of Conduct, as well as the policies and procedures relevant to your responsibilities, to ensure that you adhere to a culture that treats clients fairly and focuses on the long-term sustainability of client relationships.


Competencies
  • Significant financial services experience including a good understanding of some or all of the Financial Services activities performed by Kleinwort Hambros Group entities in the UK, Channel Islands and Gibraltar (banking, investment management, fiduciary, wealth management)
