Financial Instruments (FI) is an Operations Utility service, supporting all business groups within Wealth Management (WM) operations of the Bank across the Front-to-back trade lifecycle. It has responsibility to manage data that is used by a wide range of downstream applications. The team actively partners with Front Office, Trade Settlement, Risk, Finance, Legal & Compliance and other Operations units within the Wealth Management.

FI is responsible for the accurate and timely provision of internally and externally sourced Instrument data on behalf of all business streams and logistic/control functions within the Bank. They maintain instruments across all product areas and lead the development and implementation of data management best practices throughout the organisation to protect and enhance the value of the firm's data.

  • Meet with offshore supervisors daily to understand daily issues
  • Liaise between offshore team and Client

  • Raising tickets for Offshore processing by removing Client Data Information (CID)
  • Control over Client Data Information (CID) - masking action ownership

Client Facing Support
  • Stakeholder and Client engagement in the region; establish and maintain relations with clients and downstream data users
  • Understand and respond appropriately to the needs of internal / external clients who encounter transactional difficulties related to instrument data.
  • Ensuring Client SLA's and expectations are achieved
  • BCM Support
  • Performing BCP testing at onshore sites
  • Provide support to offshore BCP testing as required
  • Maintain and update BCM plans
  • Dashboards - SLA & Quality
  • Review of daily production dashboards
  • Create and present monthly governance decks
  • Weekly KPI reporting
  • Ad-hoc / management reporting

Primarily, the role requires staff to demonstrate a strong focus on delivery to the Business and to improve Client service; management of our offshore service provider; management of our data vendors; enhance existing data collection and maintenance processes; support shaping the strategic direction of the Instrument team; support change initiatives and represent their impact to the appropriate region; identify opportunities to streamline processes, working with Operations Change and IT to turn analysis into workable solutions.

Required Skills and Competencies

General Skills
  • Essential
    • Overall knowledge of the financial industry and market know how
    • Knowledge of asset classes and financial instruments, their key components, and how they work in associated Front to Back process flows
  • Desirable
    • Capability to own processes: training ability, knowledge transfer, workforce management, issue management, supervisory skills, escalation management, SME capabilities

Desirable Process Specific Skills
  • Familiarity with market data vendors such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Telekurs, Standard & Poors, and Moodys
  • 3 to 5 years experience working with Instrument Static and Pricing Data
  • Understanding of SQL, Access, and Excel Macros

Education
  • College degree required (concentration in Finance, Accounting or Computer Science an advantage)
