JOB TITLE: LAND ACQUISITION ANALYST

The Investment Analyst is responsible for supporting the Land Team of the business that is tasked with the execution of new acquisition and development activity.

The role provides support and input to the land team, through modelling, research, and preparing analysis to support and determine the feasibility of new investment opportunities.

Our client is one of London's leading residential led mixed use developers. They operate across the entire lifecycle of the asset, with land acquisition, planning, stakeholder engagement, sales & marketing, delivery and customer care, asset management - all managed in-house by their exceptional industry professionals.

They promote from within the organisation and view the land team as a key component to the success of the company. Generally, the skill set of an Analyst can develop in lots of directions due to modelling being the core of most Real Estate Finance roles.

Key Role Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with the land team & investment team to assess new opportunities and producing clear summaries to enable decision making.
  • Designing, amending, and updating models (ranging in complexity) for new land opportunities; performing sensitivity and scenario analysis for external and internal purposes.
  • Creation of transaction models as well as running comparable analysis based on standard template models.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date competitive positioning data at a community and market level.
  • Assist in preparing weekly / monthly reports to help track land pipeline.

Role Scope:
  • This role may have indirect reporting lines to other Board Members.
  • The post holder will have the opportunity to gain direct exposure to Board Members and across a range of the company's investment, finance and asset management projects.

Knowledge & Qualifications:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (2:1 and above) in a related business or analytical subject; such as finance, business management, real estate, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics; science or engineering.
  • IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft packages including PowerPoint (Advanced level) and Excel (Advanced level).

Experience & Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in an analytical role within a real estate development background. Experience working in residential sector or on residential projects is desirable.
  • Strong quantitative background with experience in financial modelling, valuations and financial analysis.
  • Strong qualitative analytical skills; having the ability to research, analyse and present data.
  • Highly numerate, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships at all levels.
  • Good organisation skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Naturally inquisitive and commercially minded, with a desire to understand the bigger picture and contribute to understanding and solving problems.
  • A positive team player, with an adaptable and flexible approach along with ability to work collaboratively to drive results and support the wider team and business objectives. An interest in Real Estate.
