BlackRock Sustainable Investing (BSI) is part of the organization at the forefront of redefining the financial services industry towards a more sustainable future. The team unifies the firm's sustainable investment strategies onto a single platform and partners with our global investment and distribution teams to develop scalable and innovative solutions ranging from screens and environmental social governance (ESG) strategies to Impact Investing. Launched in 2015, our BSI platform provides investors with a range of strategies across asset classes, investment vehicles and impact profiles. With over $430 billion in sustainable assets under management, BlackRock leverages our differentiated investment platform, proprietary technology, data analytics, deep ESG expertise and culture of innovation to offer sustainable solutions to our clients.

Today, BSI consists of 40 people globally who are passionate about identifying drivers of long-term returns associated with environmental, social and governance issues, integrating sustainable data and insights throughout BlackRock's investment processes through Aladdin, and crafting innovative investment solutions that address clients' environmental and social objectives alongside their financial objectives.

Your role and impact:

We are seeking a recognized leader who has regional credibility and established relationships in the financial services industry with a deep understanding of the sustainability landscape taking shape across asset management in Europe. The individual will understand complex issues facing our largest and most strategic clients in the fast-evolving area of sustainable investing, delivering innovative solutions that address these issues by assembling, motivating, and directing effective, cross-functional teams.

The individual will work closely with the local leadership and BSI expert colleagues to support our commercial success in Germany (strategic client & whole portfolio dialogue, product innovation origination, education of our client-facing teams, supporting clients in the development new sustainability standard) as well as enhancing our commercial and corporate sustainable brand.

Your responsibilities:

• Drive Client strategic dialogue on Sustainability and leverage in business product development.
• Define sustainable priorities in the country with the country head & head of sales including setting business targets.
• Grow relationships with clients' Heads of Sustainability/CIOs to understand client needs and priorities and support them on their journey.
• Support in delivering key sustainable solutions for clients and ensure product localisation and innovation.
• Drive Blackrock Sustainable Investing outreach
  
  Educate our sales teams to be able to confidently represent our approach.
• Amplify BlackRock sustainability locally in a scalable and strategic way.
• Develop client-friendly sustainable content on key themes
• Strengthen the engagement in the German financial ecosystem
  
  Be the expert on regulations, reporting, climate and impact analytics, metrics and products.
  
  Collate competitor intelligence, and client needs on sustainable approaches and cascade back to BSI and BlackRock leadership to inform strategy.
• Engage with the local ecosystem such as industry associations and regulators to ensure BlackRock sustainable standards comply with regulation.

You Have:

• 15+ years of financial services industry experience, preferably in the German market
• Experience with sustainable investing strategies as a long-standing and recognized sustainability investment expert and thought leader
• Deep connectivity to, and respect from, local clients, investment and policy making ecosystem around Sustainability
• Strategic, analytical and entrepreneurial attitude with proven ability to prioritize and lead multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to motivate and mobilize large cross-functional teams towards a shared vision
• Financial markets experience and broad technical expertise spanning all major asset classes (fixed income, equities, property, hedge funds, private equity and other alternatives)
• Excellent communication skills; able to tailor communication style to the audience.
