About this role

Institutional Sales and Relationship Management

BlackRock is in a unique position in the Australasian market, with a full suite of capabilities available to help solve for the enterprise needs of local institutions, which serve an important purpose with regards to retirement savings and the balance sheet management of Government and Insurers. We count many of Australia's prominent institutions as clients, and their relationship with BlackRock may include investments - spanning alternatives, active, index and multi-asset - or via the BlackRock proprietary portfolio construction and risk management technology, Aladdin.

The Institutional team is responsible for market facing interactions with institutional clients and has specific goals around building long-term relationships with clients via listening to their enterprise needs and assisting with specific solutions. Key metrics for sales and relationship managers include measurement around enterprise relationship strength, including knowledge of client objectives, their investment processes, and personnel); face-to-face activity; accountability and individual contribution to growth via net new assets and revenue; and teamwork as "One BlackRock" with colleagues across client experience management, investment strategists, and franchise leaders to ensure a strong culture and create a seamless experience.

Key responsibilities of a sales and relationship manager include:

- The ability to articulate the purpose of key clients and develop a strategy around how BlackRock may play a role in helping individual clients achieve their investment objectives

- The growth of client relationships, through enterprise engagement and accountability for medium to long-term commercial growth as measured by a range of metrics

- Proactively meeting clients face-to-face via a well-managed and considered and integrated activity plan, which will include regular individual engagement as well as participation in industry events

- Idea generation and identifying new business opportunities

- Best practice preparation and execution in client meetings, including pitches and portfolio reviews

- Navigating the global firm and build internal relationships locally and globally enabling you to support relationship management efforts.

- Be the face of the firm, able to speak holistically and confidentially across the full spectrum of BlackRock's capabilities

- Partner with key stakeholders throughout the business including marketing, client services, legal & compliance, and investment teams in delivering client outcomes.

- Adopt and embody BlackRock's principles, being innovation, a One BlackRock approach, passion and being a fiduciary to our clients.

Knowledge/Experience

- Strong product knowledge of managed funds and investments and good understanding of institutional investment consultants, and their portfolios.

- Experience in dealing with institutional investment consultants preferred

- At least 10 years of proven track record in front-line sales within a high-quality multi-product investment management environment.

- You should have expertise in marketing investment products to institutional clients in Australia and developed relationships in the market.

Skills/Qualifications

- You should have a University degree in any discipline. Having additional industry-based qualifications will be an advantage.

- Possess a good understanding of the asset and wealth management industry in Australia.

- Be a strong team player who can collaborate internally and leverage the Firm's resources and global infrastructure to deliver the best-in-class service and solutions to our clients.

- Be a self-motivated individual with a commitment to excellence.

- Highly developed communication and presentation skills.

- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

- A client first attitude and high attention to detail.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
