About this role

BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI) is charged with establishing BlackRock as the preeminent provider of alternative investment products globally. BlackRock has $330 Billion in Alternative assets including hedge funds, fund of funds, real estate, real assets, and other hybrid strategies.

This unified operating platform combines expertise, resources, and capabilities across asset classes and it leverages resources within Blackrock's broad infrastructure and global investment team. The BAI platform includes investment teams located in London, Dublin, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Princeton, Durham, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney and Boston.

Job Purpose/Background:

An opportunity has opened up due to organic growth and expansion to join the Treasury team within the BlackRock Portfolio Financial Management team. A team of 12 based in Dublin, New York and Singapore; which primarily provides financial, operational and administrative support for the Climate Infrastructure business within BlackRock. The role will be US based. This position will provide Treasury and Operational support for the Global Climate Infrastructure team activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Climate Infrastructure business with the execution of treasury activities for all the team's investments.
  • Work with teams internally and externally across multiple jurisdictions to ensure timely close of investments.
  • Forecasting and cash management to meet investment close deadlines.
  • Booking of investment and FX trades in line with BlackRock processes and procedures.
  • Advise the team and book derivatives including FX trades and interest rate swaps.
  • Advise the team as required on borrowing requirements.
  • Management of financing including interest payments and loan drawdowns and letters of credit.
  • Maintain standard processes and procedures around all cash activity.
  • Record cash movements in cashbooks.
  • Forecast and management of capital calls and finance drawdowns to achieve maximum results for the fund.
  • Document and manage intercompany loan documentation.
  • Co-ordination and Management of any new entities or compliance checks required on Aladdin the BlackRock treasury system.
  • Data Management and Filing.
  • Bank Reporting and liaison with cash reconciliations team on any cash breaks.
  • Ad hoc Reporting and Analytics as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:
  • Candidates must ideally be a qualified accountant and/or hold Bachelor or Master Degree in in finance, economics, accounting, business management with industry or treasury for at least 3 years.
  • Experience within a corporate finance or financial services role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and drive to complete projects.
  • Strong focus on risk management, experience in a six sigma or similar environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience in Cash Management, FX and Risk analysis (e.g. banking / treasury background).
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls required around cash movements.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and work with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent Excel and financial analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of emerging markets, particularly APAC and Africa are desirable.
  • Experience in managing staff or external service providers an advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workload autonomously and effectively.
  • Reliable with a can-do attitude.
  • Inquisitive, detail-oriented, self-motivated.
  • Willing to travel.
