Established in 1973, the IWA - Forest Industry Pension Plan (the “Plan”) provides a pension benefit to a membership comprised of forest industry employees and retirees. As one of Canada’s top pension plans in terms of assets, this organization serves more than 65,000 active, deferred, and retired members, with over 400 participating employers and more than four billion dollars in assets.

The Manager, Investments is a member of the Plan’s management team and reports to the Chief Investment Officer. The Manager works very closely with the CIO on the oversight of the Plan’s assets and external investment managers and is responsible for the analysis and accurate reporting behind the Plan’s investment performance and risk management.

The ideal candidate brings a track record of success in an analyst, research or oversight function within a pension plan, an investment consulting, a performance measurement, or an investment organization that manages funds, within a banking or institutional environment. Experience liaising with Investment Managers and / or Custodian Banks will be an asset. Ideally armed with a CFA designation, the preferred candidate has demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of investment manager strategies and asset classes. Advanced analytical proficiency and a robust understanding of financial modeling and analysis are critical to success in this role. The ideal candidate possesses a strong commitment to excellence and the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. With a keen eye for detail, the preferred candidate excels at nuanced and precise analysis.
