Partner with the business to develop and implement accounting practices consistent with GAAP
(Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other governing agencies. Manage nonproprietary
mutual fund fee invoicing and related accounting and reporting.
Responsibilities
* Calculate and prepare journal entries dealing with more complex accounting functions.
* Review, analyze, and resolve accounting exceptions and reconciliation issues.
* Manage calculation and invoicing of management fees on various investment products.
* Review and record daily cash payments settlements while adhering to strict controls.
* Research and respond to inquiries from business partners related to product revenue and assets.
* Participate as a subject matter expert on business projects. Participate in gathering requirements and
in testing of new products.
* Improve processes to ensure optimal operational efficiency while maintaining controls, integrity, and
minimizing financial risks. Develop and implement process improvement initiatives that support the
department goals and service levels.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree with 0-5 years of relevant experience
* Associates Degree or equivalent with 3-5 years relevant experience
* Fluent in use of Microsoft Office programs - specifically Excel
* Strong understanding of systems, controls, accounting knowledge, financials, and processes
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with the Workday general ledger system.
* Experience with mutual fund industry
