Job Responsibilities:

To manage the centralcounterparty (CCP) risk of HKEX clearing houses, the successful incumbent is expected to:
  • Lead, plan, direct and oversee clearing risk management projects in relation to new products, services and business initiatives, and ensure proper implementation of appropriate risk management measures
  • Continuously enhance the risk management policies and framework to cope with developing business needs and changing regulatory requirements. This include, among others, the margining methodology, collateral management, default management, liquidity management and counterparty risk management
  • Coordinate with relevant parties and ensure compliance of international standards and applicable regulations and proper documentation there of
  • Assess risk implications and formulate counterparty risk policies including market, credit and liquidity risks
  • Communicate effectively on risk management to both internal and external stakeholders through either ad hoc or structured channels
  • Liaise with market practitioners, clearing participants, and overseas and mainland clearing houses on clearing risk management related matters

Requirements:
  • University degree or equivalent; preferably in Risk Management/Finance/Economics or a related subject
  • Holder of relevant professional qualification, preferably MBA, MS in Finance, FRM or CFA
  • At least 15 years' relevant experience in counterparty risk or collateral operations at a CCP, bank, asset manager, hedge fund or similar financial organizations is preferred, of which at least 10 years at a management level
  • Knowledge of and experience with local and international regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO), including its subsidiary legislation, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), CPMI-IOSCO Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMIs) or European Markets Infrastructures Regulations (EMIR). Knowledge of Mainland China financial market related regulatory requirements is an advantage
  • Excellent managerial, analytical, strategic thinking, networking, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Well versed in clearing house rules and risk monitoring systems; experience with global or regional CCP is an advantage
  • Strong leadership with excellent business acumen who believes in teamwork and possesses positive/to-do attitude with strong people management skills
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage
