The Role: Senior Manager - Financial Accounting
Location: New York, NY
The Grade: 12 (relevant for internal applicants only)

The Team: You will be joining and supporting the Corporate Controller's Group in all aspects of financial reporting including, preparing and reviewing the SEC reporting requirements for SPGI.

The Impact: This person will play a key role in achieving the Company's goal of assuring the integrity and appropriateness of its external financial statements and disclosures in accordance with the SEC's rules and regulations and US GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and review of the Company's SEC reporting (Annual Reports, 10-K's, 10-Q's, 11-K's, 8-K's and XBRL filings as required)
  • Review external communications (earnings releases, prepared remarks and investor presentations) to ensure consistency with previously filed financial information and conformance with SPGI reporting standards
  • Assist in month-end internal reporting responsibilities including detailed review/analysis of general ledger accounts as assigned
  • Work closely with the external auditors for the review and audit of the Company's quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures
  • Support the research and implementation review of recently issued accounting pronouncements (GAAP and SEC Regulations)
  • Assess and review financial reporting controls
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably public accounting as part of it, and CPA
  • Proficiency in SEC reporting requirements
  • Proven experience providing decision support and financial leadership to senior management
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Proven managerial experience
  • Experience working within a global matrixed organization
  • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, TM1
  • Knowledge of automation tools
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $97,200 to $201,800. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
