Our Finance department consists of approximately 5 talented professionals in Germany who work closely with the rest of our 20+ talented professionals across 4 countries, all deeply passionate about creating great digital marketplaces.

Within the Finance department, the Strategy and Analytics team (S&A) is responsible for FP&A activities as well as supporting analytically the whole company as needed.

MyHammer AG, Travaux, MyBuilder, Werkspot and Instapro are part of IAC / ANGI Home Services.

Your role description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded FP&A analyst (m/f/d) to join our finance team here at MyHammer. The FP&A Analyst's responsibilities include assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes, assisting our accounting teams when relevant in their activities and performing research and analysis as may be required by leadership.

As a FP&A analyst, this individual will also be responsible for using data to advise management on decisions such as how to improve performance, minimize risk or capture new opportunities from both within the company and within the external environment. Beyond the monthly responsibilities, this position will also work on ad hoc projects relating to process optimization, market research and business intelligence. The position will be based in Berlin and report to our local head of FP&A of MyHammer. You will be part of a Euro-American team with colleagues across Europe and the US east coast.

Longer term this role has potential to evolve in different directions, either specializing in Financial Planning issues or going more towards analytical issues.

The position will be based out of Berlin office - with a hybrid office/home schedule (details to be discussed).

What you will be doing:
  • Support and facilitate strategic decision-making by preparing in-depth financial analyses and identifying opportunities for growth or increased efficiency
  • Support the annual budgeting processes and monthly/quarterly forecasting activities, working closely with local FP&A head
  • As part of local closing process, perform variance analysis on P&L and balance sheet items, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance and help ensure monthly reporting is timely, complete and accurate
  • Collaborate with diverse business partners to prepare analyses that will enhance various financial and business processes
  • Analyze data and KPIs to develop key insights for performance, risks, and opportunities
  • Support inquiries on business outlook updates
  • Support the consolidation & reporting team in ensuring accurate and timely internal and external reporting
  • Support the Business Intelligence team in ad-hoc projects

Who you are:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or other relevant disciplines
  • 1st experience in finance and analytics either in Corporate, Auditing, Banking, Consulting or Investment Banking settings
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Good excel, Google suite and modeling skills
  • Understanding of accounting and closing process, proficiency in financial analyses
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools and financial systems such as Looker, Oracle Essbase (or equivalents)
  • Statistical knowledge and fluency in SQL is a big plus
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Comfortable working on a very international environment and with globally distributed teams
  • Able to travel a few times a year to our other European offices
  • Ability to work in both German and English
