Position Description:

We are seeking an individual with an orientation toward superior client service who will be responsible for providing mutual fund statistical support in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Daily responsibilities include maintaining mutual fund performance, creating statistical reports, responding to due diligence questionnaires and requests for new business proposals, addressing advanced mutual fund questions, and providing shareholder services phone support. This position requires frequent interaction with individuals in Client Management, Product Strategy and other investment professionals at PIMCO. It also requires interaction with global offices and external parties, including mutual fund clients, investment professionals, consultants, and external service providers.

This role will be based in Newport Beach, CA or Austin, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Create and distribute client-friendly mutual fund reporting to internal and external clients
  • Respond to recurring and ad hoc requests for performance and statistical information
  • Monitor nightly pricing and performance process for Portfolio Management reporting
  • Service on-demand client inquiries through the Fund Statistics phone line
  • Develop and audit reporting for PIMCO Funds Management, the Board of Directors, Account Management, Product Strategy, and Portfolio Management
  • Manage various projects related to process improvements, procedures, systems development, and new business lines
  • Monitor and engage external service providers, including vendors, custodian banks, transfer agents, and 3rd party databases (Morningstar, Lipper, Bloomberg)
  • Create and audit regulatory reporting performance data for accuracy and completeness
  • Comply with legal/compliance and procedural guidelines


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a quantitative or analytical field
  • 1-5 years of experience, investment company and fixed income experience is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of the financial markets and mutual fund operations
  • Ability to consistently produce accurate, high quality results with a strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Excel, VBA, SQL, and Business Objects
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate complex operations and ideas clearly
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Superior problem-solving skills; ability to solve problems in a timely basis
  • Strong project/time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task; successfully meet multiple competing demands under tight deadlines
  • Detail oriented with strong research and analytical skills
  • Flexible team player that can adapt easily to changing priorities
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to be a self-starter
  • Completion of Series 7 & 63 is required within first 3 months of service required
