Business Unit Overview:
BlackRock Finance consists of Finance professionals in teams such as Accounting Policy, Tax, Business Finance, Treasury, Accounting Operations and Corporate Accounting. Within the Controllers' Group, we are responsible for ensuring the integrity of the financial data in accordance with applicable financial standards and regulatory frameworks.

Job Purpose / Background:
We are looking for an upbeat and proactive individual to join our controllers team as an Analyst. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, highly analytical, and pro-active with respect to identifying and implementing process change which helps in driving increased accuracy, improved internal controls and greater efficiencies. In this role, this individual will be responsible for assisting in the accounting and reporting ensuring the integrity of the financial data for the US legal entities in accordance with US GAAP! The Analyst will also assist with special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support financial statement and regulatory reporting for the US legal entities inclusive of monthly & annual close process under US GAAP.
  • Perform balance sheet and profit & loss trend analysis.
  • Prepare work papers and reconciliations.
  • Assists with special projects as needed. Examples: Cash repatriations, dividends, capital reductions and contributions, etc.
  • Collaborating closely with internal and external partners from different teams and departments.
  • Sharing of standard methodologies between regions.


The role will interact with several departments within Finance including: Corporate Tax, Revenue Accounting, Compensation Accounting, Investment Accounting, Accounts Payable, External Reporting, Accounting Policy and Financial Planning & Analysis group as well as departments outside of Finance such as Legal & Compliance, Business Operations as well as Payroll.
Knowledge / Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 1-2 years of public accounting experience (preferably in the "Big 4") or accounting/tax experience in a multi-national company
  • High proficiency in MS Office software skills (especially Excel & PowerPoint)
  • CPA license or CPA track
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in the preparation of reports, and/or financial documents

  • Works well with others; sharing thoughts while also having others views in consideration.
