Function: Incumbent has responsibility for managing moderately complex equity and fixed income portfolios for Stewart Capital. Incumbent also has responsibility for performing equity and fixed Income market research, economic research and other research assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages equity and fixed income portfolios with oversight provided through the Investment Policy and Strategy Committee (IPSC). Conducts research for equity securities, equity markets, and fixed income markets including: industry dynamics, supply and demand factor, valuation, dividend yields, competitive position, economic and political factors, spread relationships, etc.
- Maintains knowledge of the equity and fixed income markets including: industry dynamics, supply and demand factors, valuation, dividend yields, competitive position, economic and political factors, spread relationships, etc.
- Maintains knowledge of and provides insights on domestic and global economic activity.
- Maintains client contact both individually and in conjunction with Administrative Service teams in their ongoing A-client contact calling programs.
- Implements equity and fixed income trades and maintains working relationships with the brokerage community.
- Provides written reviews and an analysis for presentation to IPSC.
- Assists in business development staff with preparation of presented material.
- Effectively communicates Stewart Capital Investment Process, Investment Policy and views on the financial markets to Wealth Management and Bank staff.
- Responsible for communication with clients in person and over the phone, pertaining to all investment related topics.
- Maintains a good working relationship with all bank employees. Possess the ability to work independently. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and is motivated to work as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn, the organization.
- Communicates Stewart Capital economic and market views with various media including print and electronic media.
- Communicates Stewart Capital economic and market views in various public forums.
Physical Demands
Operates a keypad device: 40% of the day. Operates office equipment: 40% of the day. The primary parts of the body involved in performing these tasks are the fingers, thumbs, hands, wrists and elbows. Sitting is required. Requires the use of manual dexterity skills for typing up to 40% of the business day. Specific vision requirements include visions of 18”-20” for computer work and travel.
