Role Description

As an Analyst/Associate in the BlackRock Alternatives Specialists team, the candidate will work closely with client, operational and investment teams at BlackRock to develop, position and distribute BlackRock's platform of alternative investment solutions to clients in EMEA, with a particular focus on Real Assets (Infrastructure and Real Estate). The candidate will also provide support to BAS EMEA leadership to promote BlackRock's expertise to internal and external stakeholders across all private market capabilities and thus catalyze BlackRock's growth in this important segment. The candidate will report to Head of BAS EMEA Real Estate, based in Frankfurt and has the opportunity to grow into a BAS specialist sales role in the future.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop product and market fluency across BlackRock's private markets platform
  • Partner with relationship managers and senior BAS team members to drive client opportunities
  • Prepare meeting materials, gather critical client background information, liaise with clients, participate in portfolio review meetings/calls and product pitches, lead follow-ups from meetings and contribute to the positioning of our alternative products in RFP responses
  • Work with BAS specialists on managing existing clients and prospecting new investors
  • Work with portfolio managers, investment product specialists, compliance officers, consultant relations, operations and portfolio administration teams in handling client requests or working on client commitments to funds/mandates
  • Develop and execute targeted client roadshows aligned with sales campaigns
  • Document client meetings in relevant BlackRock systems
  • Ensure high quality reporting on fundraise progress to senior management


Skills, experience and education:
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Very organised with strong attention to detail and high bars for accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills a plus
  • Self-starter who responds promptly to internal and external requests
  • Ability to multi-task and work in autonomy, perform under pressure and deliver in short timeframes
  • Enquiring and analytically minded with a logical and thorough work ethic
  • Must possess the desire and ability to work in a team-orientated environment
  • Understanding of financial markets and the alternative investment space
  • University degree or equivalent, CFA or CAIA a plus
  • Must have native fluency in German and be fluent in English.
  • French or other additional languages are considered a strong plus
