The role of Business Intelligence Consultant will be responsible for maximizing value of S&P Global Mobility data assets for the client and for accelerating the deployment of data assets, reducing time-to-value for the benefit of the client, and maintaining ready and easy access to all S&P data assets.

The Business Intelligence Consultant proactively interfaces directly with client teams stemming from special projects, ad hoc requests or noteworthy observations derived from S&P data. Independently consults with clients to identify meaningful market trends and among the client's own business base using S&P data licensed by client.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Maximizes the value of S&P Global data assets by:
    • Providing access to restricted datasets (e.g.: motorcycle ridership and migration data).
    • Conducting analysis, reporting and ad-hoc investigations for specific client objectives using S&P Global Mobility data and available client information.
    • Understanding client challenges and needs and serve as client advocate during internal S&P Global Mobility discussions
    • Presenting meaningful summaries, business implications, and actionable insights in a one-on-one setting, to a small group or via formal presentations.
    • Collaborating with client and internal team members on projects and requests
    • Supporting the advertising claim process from initial feasibility analysis through final claim validation and documentation.
  • Serves as primary point-person to support S&P Global data licensed by the client. This will be done through:
    • Organizing and providing periodic training on S&P Global data licensed across the organization for all users and recipients including basic understanding of S&P Global data assets, best practices, compliant use of the data, advanced use of the data assets, comparative view of different data assets and best fit for each of them.
    • Keeping updated inventory of S&P Global data assets deployed at client as well as up-to-date documentation for each of them available in an easy-to-reach format for the client.
    • Conducting periodic check ins with end users of the data assets to ensure satisfaction and to uncover potential areas of growth.
  • Reduces time-to-value of S&P Global data assets by serving as primary post-production person for all S&P Global data assets by:
    • Helping to democratize the access and use of S&P Global data across the company.
    • Producing documentation for data assets using pre-existing S&P Global documentation and creating original documentation for client-specific customized fields.
    • Tracking the delivery of client-specific customized specs (e.g.: check compatibility/general fit with prior S&P Global deliveries across time, review first-time requirements prior to delivery, check that documentation language is compatible with client's requests, etc.)
    • Post-production formatting/processing of data when needed to meet client-specific requirements
    • Answering questions directly and opening / following up on tickets in coordination with S&P Global Product Support Specialists.
  • Facilitates on-going communication between the client and S&P Global by:
    • Uncovering needs for data that can be met by deployed or not deployed S&P Global data assets.
    • Communicating customer needs, output and timing to project team including writing specs for customized data assets
    • Keeping up to date knowledge of S&P Global data assets and available services and communicating when relevant.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Conveys customer feedback to S&P Global Mobility account team and product development staff.
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of company's products and other applications used by customers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Business Administration, Statistics, Math, or Economics with at least six (6) years industry analysis experience in a marketing, sales, analytic or consulting role, or equivalent combination of education and expertise.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required. Must be able to adapt to different audiences.
  • Must be able to translate and write customer or study design needs into technical requirements and specifications.
  • Solid writing and presentation abilities required.
  • Requires the ability to analyze opportunities and their impact.
  • Excellent assessment/probing and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Tableau/Power BI, and Alteryx Required
  • Knowledge of R or Python preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of database design issues and concepts related to queries driven from compiled files and multiple data sources.
  • Experience with motorcycle product, markets, and consumers is a plus (not required)
Working Conditions
  • Remote or Hybrid (if hybrid, located near Milwaukee, WI or Detroit, MI)
  • Available to client Monday-Friday between 9am and 5pm CST, excluding company holidays and scheduled time off
  • Occasional client visits in Milwaukee, WI

  • For work locations in the state of Colorado, the anticipated minimum base salary for this role would be $90,000. Compensation will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the applicant.
